THE WARRANT OFFICER OF THE
SANDF CHANGE OF OFFICE PARADE AND FAREWELL
FUNCTION 29 SEPTEMBER 2006
The
Change-of-Office Parade and Farewell Function of
the Warrant Officer of the South African
National Defence Force will take place at the SA
Army College parade ground, to be followed by a
farewell function at the Wildebeest Club on 29
September 2006.
The Chief of
the SANDF Gen Nhlanhla Godfrey Ngwenya has
appointed Chief Army as the Chief Executor
responsible for general SANDF execution and
coordination.
WO1 F.J.S.
Scheepers as from 1 October 2006 will succeed
the outgoing WO of the SANDF, WO1 J.J. Jacobs.
The Services
and Divisions will participate in the parade as
part of the formal programme of the
Change-of-Command Parade. This will be followed
by a farewell function for invited guests.
The GOC SA
Army Armour Formation will conduct the WO of the
SANDF Change- of-Command parade at SA Army
College parade ground at 11 o’clock on 29
September 2006.
The parade
will involve a change of office and farewell
with a Battalion-in-Review. The SANDF spectators
must wear Dress Code No 1B and civilian men must
wear lounge suit with medals. The civilian
ladies must dress appropriate, preferably with
hat and headdress. The Services and Divisions
are responsible for their own participants’
transport arrangements.
The
appointments at level 4 of a chief executor and
a coordinator have been made.
1 Squadron
consisting of 3 troops of 27 soldiers per troop
will be on parade.
A master of
ceremonies and a host for the function will be
appointed. Two senior officers will act as chief
usher and parade commander.
Two junior
NCOs are to serve as door openers. One colour
party is to act as part of the colour platoon
(1SSB).
One Olifant Tank on tank transporters, one
Rooikat armoured car, one 90 mm Eland armoured
car and two 120 mm mortars are to be used as
saluting base markers during the parade.
On the other
hand, the SA Army Infantry Formation will
provide two ushers for the parade and one colour
party to act as part of the colour platoon (2
SAI Bn).
The SA Army
military band will participate during the
parade. The artillery formation will fire 17
round gun salutes from an 88 mm gun troop.
The SA Army
Air Defence Artillery Formation will provide two
flag orderlies to hoist and haul down the SA
Army flag.
The SA
Engineering Formation will provide two door
openers, while the SA Army Intelligence
Formation will provide two ushers for the
parade.
The Chief of
the Air Force will provide 47 personnel to
perform various roles during the parade. One
aircraft for an air display will be made
available. The SAAF military band will be
participating in this event.
One Oryx
helicopter will trail the SANDF flag during a
salute flight. Part of the parade will be a
static display of a helicopter. 1 Squadron will
form part of the colour platoon.
Meanwhile, the
Chief of SA Navy will provide MAA Navy to serve
as Warrant Officer-in-Control of the Navy
contingent. Four Junior NCOs are to act as door
openers. Two flag orderlies to be responsible
for the SA Navy Flag.
Four seamen
will be used to distribute the programme, and
the SA Navy will provide six ushers for the
parade.
One company will consist of three platoons, ie
twenty-seven soldiers per platoon.
The Surgeon
General has appointed WO SAMHS as the
WO-in-Control of the SAMHS contingent.
He will
further provide medical support for the SANDF
participants in the parade.
Four junior
NCOs will serve as door openers and also provide
six ushers.
Four ptes will
be used to distribute the parade and function
programmes.
One company
will consist of three platoons ie twenty-seven
soldiers per platoon.
One colour
party will be provided to form part of the
colour platoon. Two flag orderlies to hoist and
remove the SAMHS flag will be employed.
One Mfezi
ambulance will be displayed on the parade
ground.
The Chief
Defence Intelligence will provide two flag
orderlies to hoist and haul down the Division
flag.
