EIGHT MEN AND FOUR WOMEN OF THE SANDF TO
PARTICIPATE IN A CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP
COMPETITION AT OUDTSHOORN FROM 8 TO 13 SEPTEMBER
2008
Eight men and four women cyclists from the
South African National Defence (SANDF) will
participate in an inter-provincial race against
teams from the South Eastern Cape, South African
Police Service and the Correctional Service at
Oudtshoorn from 8 to 13 September 2008.
SANDF members will participate in the
following categories: Elite up to 29 years,
Junior Vets 30-39 years, Vets 40-49 years,
Masters 50 + and the Ladies open seeded. On a
daily basis and before the beginning of the
stage, the previous stage winners will be
awarded with the following category jerseys: the
Green (Points Jersey), Yellow (overall leader)
and the Polkadot Jersey (King/ Queen of the
Mountain).
SANDF Cycling, whose Patron, Maj Gen L.M.
Dlulane will also join the cyclists in
Oudtshoorn, will conduct a Cycling Development
Clinic among local schools in Oudtshoorn on
Tuesday (9th September 2008). The exercise is
aimed at imparting cycling awareness to school
children in Oudtshoorn.
